AI for Social Good: Successful Business Models

Technovation is hosting a 2 hour learning session on how to use artificial intelligence for social good…while also generating revenue for your business.

Why AI?

Students need to understand how to navigate a world in which artificial intelligence has become ubiquitous in everyday life. Youth are shaping the world and AI will be one of their most powerful tools to do so.

If you are an educator

We invite you and your students to attend our Technovation-led session on AI and how it can be harnessed for social good! Students will get a chance to hear from industry experts and Technovation alum about how they have used the latest technology to positively change the world! The session will also include how Technovation is encouraging girls to incorporate cutting edge AI tools like ChatGPT in real world problem solving.

What to expect

Session Overview

In this session, you will hear from industry leaders from DataDotOrg and ReFED who will talk about how they are leveraging AI technology in their work and tackling pressing issues such as Food Waste. You will also hear from past Technovation Girls participants about how they were able to use new technologies to tackle some of our most pressing social issues.

During this session our audience will get a chance to explore Technovation’s Ideation process to think about how AI might be able to solve pressing social issues.

Lastly, this session will introduce the audience to how Technovation hopes to leverage ChatGPT for its mentors and students to further enhance their innovation and project submissions. Please join us for some hands-on fun!

Speakers

Jackie Suggitt, Capital, Innovation, & Engagement Director for ReFED

ReFED is the national nonprofit working to end food loss and waste by advancing data-driven solutions. Jackie builds ReFED’s diverse multi-sector network, manages external partnerships, and leads planning for the annual Food Waste Solutions Summit. Before joining ReFED, Jackie worked as Senior Manager of Sustainability at Walmart, where she led a number of sustainable food and nutrition programs for Walmart’s global and private brand business.

About the AAAI Conference

The purpose of the AAAI conference series is to promote research in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and foster scientific exchange between researchers, practitioners, scientists, students, and engineers across the entirety of AI and its affiliated disciplines. AAAI-23 is the Thirty-Seventh AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence. The theme of this conference is to create collaborative bridges within and beyond AI.
