About Technovation

Technovation is the world’s largest technology entrepreneurship program for girls.

Our mission is to empower girls, especially those from underrepresented communities, to develop problem-solving skills, self-efficacy, and financial capacity, critical to them becoming leaders and changemakers in their communities. In the Technovation Girls program, teams of girls are supported by mentors to develop app based solutions to problems in their communities. Over the past 18 years, we have engaged 350,000 participants across 160+ countries.

With the help of The AI Forward Alliance and our global network of partners we are on a journey to make a significant impact in increasing the number of women in positions of influence, power, and leadership – especially in STEM and AI. Our goal is to empower and engage 25 million girls around the world over the coming years.

About this Opportunity

Technovation is seeking a 6 month full time Curriculum Developer based anywhere in the US. This position has a heavy focus on AI and standards alignment to support our work across multiple geographies.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Align Technovation curriculum to various state, national and international standards. Technovation has a comprehensive 12 week curriculum that includes ideation, coding, artificial intelligence, and entrepreneurship elements. The curriculum must be explicitly aligned with US national education standards and standards from select US states and countries.
  • Collaborate with our partners to update and integrate technology ethics lessons into our curriculum.
  • Contribute to updates to current curriculum, specifically in the area of artificial intelligence.
  • Collaborate with curriculum developer and program team on various curriculum-related tasks.

  • Has experience designing curriculum, developing and/or aligning curriculum standards in an educational setting
  • Has experience teaching coding and STEM concepts to K-12 students
  • Works effectively with diverse people, organizations, communities, and cultures
  • Is a strong writer and communicator
  • Loves learning about new trends and tools especially those applicable to tech and 21st century skills education
  • Has the ability to conceptualize and build content for a variety of media types and audiences
  • Is comfortable working with content experts
  • Is detail-oriented and dependable
  • Has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a small and virtual team

    • Context: Technovation teams (1-5 girls) submit a mobile or web app that they have ideated, designed, and built that solves a problem in their community. Participants, often with the help of a mentor, follow our 12-unit curriculum in the areas of ideation, coding & AI, entrepreneurship, and pitching. Here are the submission guidelines. Technovation would like to strengthen its ethics content to help teams consider in greater depth the repercussions of their solution.
    • The Task: Choose one card from the set of RRI prompt cards to focus on, using the Responsible Research and Innovation framework (AREA). Create 2-3 slides to guide Technovation students on how they might think about their project in relation to the concepts on the card.
