Corporate Employee Engagement

Support girls around the world

Engage your employees in meaningful volunteer opportunities.

Over the past 15 years more than 300,000 girls, parents, and volunteers have come together to use technology to address pressing community problems.

As a corporate partner, your employees will join this community and guide and encourage girls to never ever give up on their visions for a better, safer world.

Become a Coach

As a Coach, you'll be a topic specialist, helping a team of girls with one problem they need help with during a 1-hour session.
What you'll do:

  • Set up a schedule that works for you—teams will book 1-hour sessions within that timeframe
  • A team will sign up to meet with you and share their question, which might be about brainstorming, coding, business writing, pitching, or video recording/editing
  • Learn about the team you'll meet with, and prep using a template Technovation provides
  • Meet the team! Spend an hour with the team and guide them towards resources and solutions to their problem

Technovation provides training and templates, and you will set your own coaching schedule and can coach as many or as few teams as your schedule allows.

Become a Mentor

Guide girls to be leaders and problem-solvers.
No experience in technology is needed to become a mentor, only a willingness to learn.
What you'll do:

  • Spend 1-2 hours a week supporting a team of girls as they create a tech-based solution to a problem in their community
  • Coordinate meeting times with your teams and help keep them on track to submit on time
  • Encourage and cheer on your team, and be willing to say "I don't know, but let's find out together" when they ask you a question you don't know the answer to!

Technovation provides training and mentor support materials, as well as a global community of volunteers to network with. Mentor responsibilities can be divided among two or more volunteers who will act as co-mentors.

Become a Judge

Give girls around the world feedback on their projects and encourage them to keep building
Volunteering as a Technovation judge is a great way to get involved with Technovation Girls. You don't need a tech background to judge Technovation Girls submissions—it's your attention and constructive feedback that will help girls develop their confidence and belief in their abilities.
What you'll do:

  • Complete a 30 minute training and learn what problems girls around the world care deeply about
  • Spend 3+ hours reviewing teams' submissions to the competition during judging windows (April—June). (When judging windows are open, you can log on to judge submissions whenever it works for your schedule.)
  • Provide thoughtful, encouraging feedback to help girls develop their ideas even further.

Make Judging Technovation Girls Submissions a Team-Building Event!

Many of our partners enjoy hosting in-house judging events where team members can all volunteer as virtual judges at the same time. These judging events provide an opportunity for employees to gather together and share the experience of giving a few hours of their time and attention to girls around the world who are interested in technology and entrepreneurship.

Reach out to schedule a call to talk about additional ways your employees can get involved and support Technovation.

This might include employees speaking at events for students or alumnae, collaborating on curriculum and other resources, connecting directly with alumnae through job shadow days—or something we'll dream up together.
